Kuwait Intercepts Iranian Missiles And Drones Amid Tensions

Kuwait's Ministry of Defence has confirmed that the Kuwaiti Air Defence Force successfully intercepted and destroyed multiple Iranian ballistic missiles and drones targeting the country since the escalation of recent regional hostilities.

According to Colonel Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi, the official spokesperson for the Ministry, a total of 97 ballistic missiles and 283 drones launched from Iran toward Kuwait were detected and neutralized in line with established rules of engagement. The announcement was made through the Kuwait Army's official account on X.

The statement explained that most of the incoming threats were intercepted mid-air before reaching their intended targets. However, debris from some of the destroyed missiles and drones fell on scattered facilities across certain areas.

Authorities noted that the falling debris caused minor material damage in limited locations. No significant destruction or major casualties were reported in the immediate aftermath of the interceptions.

The Army's General Staff urged residents to rely strictly on official sources for accurate updates regarding the situation. Citizens were also warned against spreading rumors or sharing unverified information that could cause unnecessary panic.

The attacks came after the United States and Israel launched airstrikes on Iran, targeting Tehran and other cities. The strikes reportedly killed several senior figures, including Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In response, Iran vowed retaliation and, within hours, launched waves of missiles and drones aimed at American military bases across the Gulf region. The escalation has significantly heightened tensions and raised concerns about broader regional instability.
