Former U.S. President Donald Trump said that the next supreme leader of Iran would not remain in power for long unless the United States approves of the choice. Speaking in an interview with ABC News on Sunday, Trump claimed the future leader would need acceptance from the U.S. government. According to him, if the person does not receive that approval, the leader will not last long in office.

Trump explained that his goal is to prevent repeated conflicts with Iran in the future. He said the United States wants to avoid returning to the same problem every few years. He added that he does not want future American presidents to face the same crisis again, especially if Iran develops nuclear weapons.

When asked whether he could accept a leader connected to Iran's previous ruling system, Trump said he might consider it. He explained that he would be willing to approve someone from the old system if that person proves to be a good and responsible leader. According to him, there are several individuals who could qualify for the role.

Trump also claimed that Iran had plans to dominate the entire Middle East. He described the country as a "paper tiger," suggesting it appears strong but is actually weak. He said that before recent military actions, Iran was preparing attacks across the region and hoped to take control of the Middle East.

The former president added that the United States could take stronger steps if necessary. He said all options remain available, including sending special forces to seize Iran's enriched uranium. U.S. officials believe Iran has enough uranium that could reach weapons-grade level in less than ten days. Some of the material is believed to be stored at nuclear facilities such as Natanz Nuclear Facility, Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant, and Isfahan Nuclear Technology Center.

During the weekend, Trump also met the families of six fallen American soldiers. He said the meeting was emotional but meaningful, explaining that the parents were both proud and heartbroken. Trump added that many of them encouraged him to continue the fight. Although he refused to predict how long the conflict might last, he claimed that U.S. forces were already ahead of schedule in both time and military effectiveness.
