The Prime Minister of United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, has warned about the danger of a wider regional war in the Middle East. His statement comes at a time when tensions are increasing and world leaders are discussing how to prevent the conflict from spreading further across the region.

The warning followed comments made by Donald Trump, the former president of the United States. Trump suggested that the future of the military alliance North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) could be uncertain if allied countries do not provide stronger military support in the region.

Trump's statement raised concerns among Western leaders because NATO depends on cooperation between its member nations. If major allies fail to support each other during global security crises, the strength and unity of the alliance could be weakened.

In response, Starmer emphasized that the United Kingdom's immediate priority is the safety of its citizens living or traveling in the Middle East.
