Italian Prime Minister Visits Saudi Arabia To Boost Relations

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni arrived in Jeddah on Friday for an important diplomatic visit. She met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss strengthening ties between Italy and Saudi Arabia.

During their meeting, the leaders reviewed current bilateral relations and explored opportunities for further cooperation. They emphasized the importance of deepening economic, political, and cultural links between the two countries.

They also addressed recent regional developments, including the ongoing military escalation in the Middle East. The discussion focused on the effects on international shipping, energy security, and the global economy.

Both leaders stressed the need for coordinated efforts to improve regional security and stability. They highlighted the importance of collaboration to prevent further conflicts and ensure safe navigation in international waters.

Prime Minister Meloni was welcomed at King Abdulaziz International Airport by senior Saudi officials, including Makkah Region Governor Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz. Local authorities and the Italian ambassador to the Kingdom also attended the reception.

Italian sources confirmed that the visit would continue with meetings in Qatar and the UAE. This trip marks the first visit by a European Union leader to the region since the February conflict and reaffirms Italy's support for the three nations amid Iranian attacks.
