UAE Kuwait Air Defenses Intercept Iranian Missiles Drones Attacks

The United Arab Emirates and Kuwait reported on Monday that their air defense systems were actively intercepting a fresh wave of Iranian missiles and drones targeting their territories. Residents across the Gulf states heard loud sounds as defense forces worked to neutralize the threats and protect civilians from potential harm.

In Abu Dhabi, authorities said debris fell on the Raneen Systems company in the Musaffah industrial area after a successful interception, causing moderate injuries to a Ghanaian worker. Similarly, in Fujairah, a drone approaching from Iran targeted the telecommunications company du, though no injuries were reported in that incident.

Kuwait's health ministry confirmed that six people sustained minor injuries, including superficial cuts, temporary hearing effects, and injuries from falling debris. All patients received immediate medical care and are now stable, with no serious complications reported. Kuwait's army also confirmed that forces were responding to ongoing missile and drone threats after a similar overnight attack.

These back-to-back attacks represent an escalation in a weeks-long Iranian campaign against Gulf states, reportedly in retaliation for US and Israeli strikes that began in late February. On Sunday, Iranian drone and missile strikes caused fires at a petrochemical plant in the UAE's Ruwais Industrial City and targeted multiple energy and government facilities in Kuwait.

Kuwait Petroleum Corporation reported severe damage to its operational units, while a separate strike hit the Shuwaikh complex housing the oil ministry and KPC headquarters. In addition, two desalination plants were damaged, and a government office complex was struck by an Iranian drone, causing significant material damage but no casualties.

In the UAE, debris from an intercepted attack hit ADNOC Gas's Habshan complex in Abu Dhabi on Friday, killing one Egyptian worker. Authorities in Sharjah also reported responding to an incident targeting Khor Fakkan port. Pakistani nationals were injured in the attacks, prompting Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to express deep concern on social media about the safety of citizens.
