Hamideh Soleimani Afshar Arrested Over Shocking Anti-US Propaganda Posts

Hamideh Soleimani Afshar, the niece of late Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, was arrested in Los Angeles after allegedly using her social media platforms to spread wartime propaganda supporting Iran and threatening Iranian expatriates in the United States.

The 47-year-old, based in Los Angeles, reportedly shared messages promoting Iran's wartime narratives against the United States and supported threats against individuals labeled as "traitors." Authorities say she not only reposted government-aligned messages but also endorsed harsh actions against dissenters and amplified claims highlighting Iran's military strength.

Controversial Social Media Posts

According to reports, Afshar referred to the United States as the "Great Satan" and expressed approval of attacks on American soldiers in the Middle East. In an Instagram story translated from Farsi, she reportedly mocked individuals accused of betraying their homeland and spoke positively about seizing their assets.

She also shared claims that Iran was responding more effectively to U.S. military pressure than expected, citing statements attributed to American officials and media reports. In addition, Afshar reportedly supported Tehran's warnings to Iranians living abroad, which included threats of asset seizure and punishment for those considered enemies of the state.

Luxury Lifestyle in Los Angeles

Despite posting pro-Iranian wartime content, Afshar's social media profile showed her living a luxurious lifestyle in Los Angeles, including photos of expensive fashion and revealing outfits that would be considered illegal under Iran's strict dress code laws.

She also shared posts supporting Iran's leadership and circulated state media announcements praising Mojtaba Khamenei as a new Supreme Leader. Another post reportedly targeted Iranian opposition figure Reza Pahlavi, portraying him as working with foreign powers against Iran.

Arrest and Deportation Proceedings

Afshar entered the United States in 2015 on a tourist visa, received asylum in 2019, and obtained a Green Card in 2021. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio revoked her Green Card before her arrest by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Los Angeles.

She is currently in ICE custody and faces deportation after authorities accused her of spreading Iranian regime propaganda while living in the United States.

Her daughter, Sarinasadat Hosseiny (25), was also arrested. She had entered the U.S. on a student visa in 2015 and became a permanent resident in 2023, but her Green Card was also revoked as part of the investigation.
