A cleric and human rights activist, Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has strongly condemned the killing of five people, including a pregnant woman, during a violent attack in Plateau State. He described the incident as brutal, shocking, and deeply disturbing for the affected community.

The attack happened in Mbwelle village, Forof District, in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State. Reports say the violence lasted for about two hours, leaving residents in fear and confusion as gunmen invaded the community at night.

According to witnesses, the attack started around 9:00 pm when families were preparing to sleep. The gunmen reportedly opened fire sporadically, forcing villagers to run for safety while others stayed indoors in fear of being killed.

The attackers were said to have positioned themselves in strategic locations, including escape routes, making it difficult for residents to escape. Some victims who tried to flee were reportedly caught, while others hiding inside houses were also attacked.

Survivors claimed the attackers used both guns and machetes during the assault. They also alleged that the gunmen shouted "Allahu Akbar" while carrying out the killings, leaving behind destruction, trauma, and grief in the community.

Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, a pastor with the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), said the attack highlights the growing insecurity in rural areas. He also criticized the delay in security response, saying the attackers operated freely despite the presence of security forces nearby.
