A northern Islamic cleric has restated his decision to offer ₦1 million to anyone who carries out a violent act against a pastor accused of insulting the Holy Prophet. He made it clear that he will not withdraw the offer under any condition, maintaining his stance despite growing public concern.

The issue first gained attention after a video of the cleric went viral on social media. In the video, he openly called for the killing of the pastor over alleged blasphemy, which quickly raised alarm among many Nigerians about the danger of such statements and their potential consequences.

As the video spread widely, many people expressed fear that it could increase religious tension, especially in northern parts of Nigeria where such matters can easily lead to unrest. The situation has continued to attract attention due to its sensitive nature and the possible impact on peace and unity.

While repeating his position, the cleric swore that he would reward anyone who carries out the act with the promised money. He even stated that he is ready to increase the amount if necessary, showing how serious he is about his declaration.

The development has led to strong calls from different quarters urging calm and respect for the law. Many individuals and observers believe that issues involving religion should be handled through proper legal channels rather than through violence or personal action.

In the same video, a woman criticized security agencies, especially the Department of State Services (DSS), for not taking action. She questioned why no arrest had been made and warned that ignoring such threats could encourage more dangerous behavior, while also pointing out the irony of offering money for violence in a country where many people are struggling financially.
