Trump Announces Israel Lebanon Ceasefire Agreement Starting Within Hours

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that leaders of Israel and Lebanon have agreed to begin a 10-day ceasefire within hours, scheduled to start at 17:00 EST (22:00 BST).

Lebanon's Prime Minister Joseph Aoun welcomed the development, while Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described it as a "historic" chance for peace.

Trump also confirmed that Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran, is part of the ceasefire arrangement.

However, Netanyahu noted that Israeli troops will remain stationed in a 10km-deep security zone in southern Lebanon, a move that contradicts Hezbollah's demand for a full military withdrawal.
