HACCS Certifies Palmark Powdered Tomatoes With Halal QR Verification

Halal and Agrofood Compliance Certification Services (HACCS) has officially certified Palmark Powdered Tomatoes as halal compliant and introduced a new QR code verification system. This new step is aimed at improving transparency and building stronger consumer trust in Nigeria's halal certification industry.

Palmark Powdered Tomatoes is produced by Palmark Syndicate Limited, while the halal certification was carried out by HACCS. The certification helps ensure that the product meets Islamic dietary standards and follows proper food safety regulations from production to final distribution.

With the new QR code system, consumers can now easily confirm the authenticity of the halal certification by scanning the code printed on the product package using their smartphones. The scan takes users directly to the HACCS website, where they can instantly verify the certification status of the product.

HACCS described this as the first QR-based verification system introduced for halal-certified consumer products in Nigeria. According to the Chief Executive Officer of HACCS, Dr. Muhideen Amusa, this development is more than just product labeling because it combines Islamic dietary compliance, food safety checks, and scientific analysis for full consumer assurance.

Dr. Taofeek Thani Muhammed, Chairman of the HACCS Halal Certification Panel, explained that the certification process followed international halal auditing standards. He said experts carefully checked every stage, including raw material sourcing, processing, storage, and distribution, to ensure the product fully met halal and food safety requirements.

Industry experts believe that using digital verification tools like QR codes can solve many problems related to fake halal claims and lack of standardization in Nigeria's food market. HACCS said this move shows how Nigeria's halal industry is becoming more modern, transparent, and ready to compete in the growing global halal economy.
