Saudi Wildlife Ownership Registration Deadline Extended Until End June

Saudi Arabia's National Center for Wildlife has extended the third phase of its wildlife ownership registration program until June 30. The deadline was originally scheduled to end in May, but more time has been granted to help owners complete the registration process.

According to the center, the extension was approved after many wildlife owners requested additional time to document and legalize their possessions. This will allow more people to comply with the country's environmental regulations.

The registration initiative is part of Saudi Arabia's efforts to organize and monitor wildlife ownership. It aims to ensure that all wildlife possession, breeding, housing, and trading activities follow the Environmental Law and related regulations.

The third phase follows two earlier stages of the program. Those phases focused on falcon owners, private wildlife collections, breeding centers, animal housing facilities, and businesses involved in selling wildlife products and related items.

The current phase mainly targets individuals and organizations that own or handle wildlife on a large scale. Authorities want to ensure that all wildlife is properly documented and cared for according to approved standards.

The initiative also aims to protect wildlife, preserve the rights of legal owners, and improve animal welfare. In addition, it seeks to reduce unauthorized activities that could harm natural habitats or threaten the long-term survival of wildlife species.
