Türkiye Advances Balkan Peace Amid Global Uncertainty

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has reaffirmed that Türkiye remains committed to ensuring peace and stability both within its region and beyond, despite growing global uncertainty. He stressed that Ankara continues to prioritize the Balkans and does not overlook developments in the region.

Erdogan made the remarks during a joint press conference with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic at the Presidential Complex in Ankara. The leaders discussed bilateral relations and regional cooperation, highlighting the importance of diplomatic engagement.

He emphasized that, in a time marked by rising global tensions and instability, Türkiye is actively working to promote peace initiatives. According to Erdogan, maintaining stability in neighboring regions remains a core element of the country's foreign policy.

The Turkish president reiterated that the Balkans hold strategic importance for Ankara. He noted that Türkiye continues to engage diplomatically and economically with Balkan countries to strengthen regional harmony and long-term cooperation.

Erdogan also pointed to the steady growth in economic relations between Türkiye and Serbia. He revealed that total trade volume between the two nations reached $3.5 billion last year, reflecting expanding commercial ties.

He further explained that both countries are progressing gradually toward their shared target of $5 billion in trade. The increase in trade demonstrates deepening partnerships in multiple sectors, including infrastructure, manufacturing, and services.

In addition to trade growth, Erdogan highlighted the expansion of Turkish investments in Serbia, as well as the strengthening of tourism ties. He expressed optimism that continued collaboration would further solidify relations between the two countries and contribute to broader regional stability.
