Israeli Minister Rejects US Iran Peace Deal Agreement Claim

Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir has rejected a newly announced peace agreement between the United States and Iran, saying Israel is not bound by it. His comments came shortly after the deal was announced by former U.S. President Donald Trump.

The agreement was said to involve the United States and Iran, with aims to end hostilities and reopen the Strait of Hormuz for international shipping. However, Ben-Gvir insisted that Israel would continue to act independently in matters of national security.

He stated that Israel is a sovereign nation and must prioritize its own security interests above any international agreement. According to him, the deal does not address Israel's ongoing concerns in the region.

Ben-Gvir also warned that Israel should not rely on foreign pressure when making military decisions. He argued that past agreements had failed to fully protect Israel's security and cited previous conflicts as examples.

He further emphasized that Israel must continue its military operations, especially regarding threats from Hezbollah in Lebanon. He said any future attacks against Israel should trigger strong retaliatory action.

The remarks have highlighted internal disagreements within the Israeli government led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and raised questions about the stability of the newly announced peace deal in the Middle East.
