Saudi Arabia And Russia Strengthen Diplomatic Cooperation Ties

RIYADH: Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, held a phone conversation on Friday with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, to review the current state of bilateral relations between their countries.

According to a statement from the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both ministers discussed ways to enhance areas of joint cooperation. They also exchanged views on several matters of mutual interest, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening ties.

The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the discussions covered key regional and international issues, including the Palestinian-Israeli peace process, developments related to Iran, and the ongoing situation in Yemen.

Both sides emphasized the importance of maintaining an active and dynamic political dialogue between Moscow and Riyadh. They stressed that continuous engagement would help promote stability and mutual understanding.

In addition, the ministers agreed on the need to intensify joint efforts aimed at expanding trade and economic collaboration. They also highlighted opportunities to boost investment partnerships and deepen cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

The conversation further touched on preparations for the upcoming 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Saudi Arabia and Russia. The milestone, scheduled to be marked next week, reflects a century of formal ties between the two nations.

The call demonstrates the shared interest of both countries in advancing their strategic partnership and coordinating on regional and global issues of common concern.
