Iran has reportedly given the United States four to five days to meet its conditions before negotiations can resume and the Strait of Hormuz can be reopened.

Rezaei linked the aviation dispute to wider negotiations between Tehran and Washington over the ongoing war and the strategic Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most important shipping routes.

According to Rezaei, Iran has made its position clear and expects the United States to respond within the specified timeframe. He said negotiations would remain suspended until Tehran's conditions are accepted.

"Until Iran's conditions are accepted, there will be no negotiations and the Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened," Rezaei said, according to the reported statement.

Iran has previously indicated that it could reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days if Washington reduces military pressure and lifts its blockade on Iranian ports.

The latest warning comes as Iranian and American officials maintain diplomatic contacts in New York during the United Nations General Assembly. The discussions are taking place amid continuing disagreements over the war, sanctions and the strategic waterway.

The Strait of Hormuz remains central to the dispute because of its importance to international shipping and energy supplies. With negotiations still unresolved, Iran's deadline has added further attention to the diplomatic efforts between Tehran and Washington.
