Israeli Strikes Hit Iranian Schools, Scores Killed

An Israeli airstrike has reportedly targeted two schools in Iran, resulting in heavy civilian casualties and widespread outrage. According to state media, more than 80 people were killed in the attacks, including schoolchildren. The incident has intensified regional tensions and drawn sharp reactions from Iranian officials.

One of the strikes hit an elementary girls' school in Minab, a city in Hormozgan Province in southern Iran. The attack reportedly occurred during a broader wave of bombardments involving Israel and the United States. The civilian toll from these military operations is becoming increasingly clear as more details emerge.

Iran's semiofficial Tasnim News Agency quoted the Judiciary of Minab as confirming that the death toll from Saturday's strike had risen to 85. Rescue workers have continued clearing debris from the destroyed school building as families search for loved ones.

The state-run Islamic Republic News Agency reported that at least 63 others were injured in the Minab attack. Many of the wounded are said to be in critical condition. The strike forms part of what Iranian authorities describe as coordinated US-Israeli military actions across the country.

Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, shared an image of the damaged school and condemned the attack. He stated that the bombing had killed innocent children and vowed that such actions would not go unanswered.

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baghaei, described the incident as a blatant crime. He called on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to take immediate action in response to the strikes.

In a separate development, Mehr News Agency reported that at least two students were killed in another Israeli strike on a school east of the capital, Tehran. The back-to-back attacks on educational institutions have further escalated fears of prolonged violence in the region.
