The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has said he wants to be personally involved in choosing the next leader of Iran after the death of the country's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei. Trump made this statement during an interview with Axios, where he spoke about the political situation in Iran and the possible leadership change.

According to Trump, the United States should have a say in who becomes Iran's next leader. He argued that the choice of a new leader will affect peace and stability in the region. Trump said he wants someone who can help bring harmony and reduce tensions in Iran and the Middle East.

One of the names being widely discussed as a possible successor is Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the late leader. However, Trump openly rejected the idea of Mojtaba taking over the position. He described him as a "lightweight" and said such a leadership choice would be unacceptable to him.

Trump also compared the situation in Iran to what happened in Venezuela earlier this year. He said the United States played a role in political developments there after former president Nicolás Maduro was removed from power and Delcy Rodríguez eventually took leadership. Trump suggested that a similar influence could happen in Iran.

Meanwhile, there is still uncertainty about who is currently leading Iran. Officials in the country have not yet announced a new Supreme Leader, and discussions about the next leadership are still ongoing among Iranian authorities.

The situation has created political tension and uncertainty within Iran. Observers believe that the decision about the next leader could have major effects on Iran's future and its relationship with other countries, especially the United States.
