The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced that visas for all registered pilgrims from Kano State who plan to perform the 2026 Hajj in Saudi Arabia have been received and successfully printed. This announcement comes at a time when many Nigerian travelers are worried about possible flight disruptions caused by rising tensions in the Middle East.

The Director General of the board, Abubakar Matawalle, confirmed the development through the board's spokesperson, Sulaiman Dederi. According to the statement, Matawalle is currently in Saudi Arabia to supervise preparations for the pilgrimage and ensure that all arrangements for Kano pilgrims are going smoothly.

The board reassured intending pilgrims that there are no problems with visa processing. Officials emphasized that all required visas have already been received, and pilgrims should not worry about delays. They also advised the public to ignore rumors circulating online about possible visa issues for Kano pilgrims.

Authorities further warned people not to spread unverified information, fake online links, or misleading messages that could cause confusion among pilgrims and their families. Officials from the board are already in Saudi Arabia working to ensure that accommodation, transportation, and other welfare arrangements are properly organized before the Hajj begins.

In addition, the board confirmed that the Basic Travel Allowance (BTA) for pilgrims is currently being processed and will be released soon. The leadership of the board promised that all registered pilgrims from Kano State will receive proper support, safety measures, and coordination throughout the pilgrimage period.

Meanwhile, concerns about travel remain due to growing tensions involving countries such as Iran, Israel, and the United States. Some airlines, including Qatar Airways, Emirates, and British Airways, have cancelled or suspended certain flights after several Middle Eastern countries partially closed their airspace. Despite this situation, authorities in Kano insist that preparations for the 2026 Hajj are progressing smoothly and pilgrims from the state will still be able to perform their religious journey.
