According to a statement shared on the social platform X (formerly Twitter), the aircraft was reportedly used by Iranian leaders for official travel and communication with allied countries. Israeli officials said destroying the plane could weaken Iran's leadership coordination and its ability to manage international military relationships.
In the same statement, the Israeli military said the aircraft had been used by senior officials of the Iranian government to arrange military purchases and maintain contact with countries considered part of the so-called "Axis" alliance. Israeli authorities believe removing such assets could disrupt Iran's ability to rebuild military strength or maintain strong strategic coordination with its partners.
Meanwhile, reports circulating in regional media claim that Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the late Iranian leader, is currently in Moscow receiving treatment for serious injuries. Mojtaba, who is 56 years old, was said to have taken over leadership duties after the reported assassination of his father, Ali Khamenei, on February 28. However, several unconfirmed reports claim he has been in critical condition or even in a coma.
According to the Kuwaiti newspaper Al‑Jarida, Mojtaba was secretly flown out of Iran using a Russian military aircraft. The report says the operation was highly confidential and that he was taken to one of the presidential residences of Vladimir Putin in Russia. There, doctors reportedly carried out a successful surgery to treat his injuries.
The same report claimed that Mojtaba was injured during a joint U.S.-Israeli military operation called Operation Epic Fury. Because Iran has reportedly been facing continuous attacks from both the United States and Israel, sources said his injuries could not be treated safely inside the country. However, it remains unclear whether the same strike that allegedly injured Mojtaba also caused the death of his father.
Another unnamed source told reporters that Mojtaba's condition might be extremely serious. According to the claim, he may have suffered severe injuries affecting his legs and internal organs and is being treated by Iranian Health Minister Mohammad Reza Zafarghandi.
