Today is the 15th of Shawwāl, and half of the blessed month has already passed. Many Muslims are still saying, "I will start soon," but the question is: when is soon? Time is moving quickly, and Shawwāl will not wait for anyone. Every day that passes is a lost opportunity to gain a great reward from Allah.

The Prophet ﷺ taught us the importance of fasting six days in Shawwāl. He said that whoever fasts Ramadan and then follows it with six days of Shawwāl will receive the reward as if they fasted the entire year. This is a beautiful and easy opportunity from Allah, showing His mercy and generosity to His servants.

Just imagine, only six extra days of fasting after Ramadan can bring the reward of a whole year. Yet many of us completed 30 days of Ramadan fasting but are still delaying these six simple days. If someone offered you a full year's reward for only six days of effort, would you really postpone it?

Shawwāl is gradually slipping away, and opportunities like this do not come every day. The best time to start is now. You can fast today or tomorrow. You do not have to fast the six days continuously. Even starting with one day is a step in the right direction.

Continuing good deeds after Ramadan is a strong sign that Ramadan was accepted by Allah. When a believer keeps worshipping after Ramadan, it shows sincerity and true commitment. We should not be among those who worship Allah only during Ramadan and forget Him after the month ends.

May Allah give us the strength to fast the six days of Shawwāl, accept our deeds, and grant us the reward of a lifetime. May He make us consistent in worship and keep our hearts firm upon obedience. Āmīn.
