Amirhossein was arrested on January 8 and accused of setting fire to a base belonging to the Basij paramilitary in Tehran during the anti-government demonstrations. He faced harsh conditions while in prison, including weeks in solitary confinement and having his long curly hair forcibly shaved.
The teenager was shown on national television being interrogated in a brutal manner. Authorities convicted him of "Moharebeh," which means "Enmity Against God," and sentenced him to death on February 7. The execution was carried out just weeks later, with officials confirming he was hanged at dawn.
Iran's judiciary claimed that Amirhossein acted "against national security" on behalf of Israel and the United States by breaking into a military center and attempting to seize weapons. The state framed his actions as a serious threat to the country.
Human rights organizations, including Amnesty International, condemned the execution. They described the trial as "grossly unfair" and criticized the authorities for sentencing a teenager to death in less than a month after his arrest. Amnesty called the killing "arbitrary and shocking."
Fears are now growing for other protesters still on death row. Reports suggest that four more men have been placed in pre-execution solitary confinement at the same prison, raising concerns about further executions in the coming days.
