Speaking during the opening of the third Umrah and Ziyarah Forum in Madinah, Prince Salman said the honor of serving pilgrims started from the time the Kingdom was founded by King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud. He noted that caring for pilgrims has always been part of Saudi Arabia's mission and remains an important responsibility for the country today.
Prince Salman added that this noble legacy continues under the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He said the current leadership is working hard to improve services for pilgrims and ensure that every visitor to the holy sites receives proper care, comfort, and support during their spiritual journey.
The three-day Umrah and Ziyarah Forum began on Monday, March 30, at the King Salman International Convention Center in Madinah. The event was organized by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in partnership with the Pilgrim Experience Program to bring together experts, leaders, and stakeholders in the pilgrimage sector to discuss better ways to serve pilgrims.
Prince Salman also highlighted the Kingdom's investment in modern technology and infrastructure to improve the experience of Umrah visitors. He explained that Saudi Arabia has made major progress in the Umrah sector between 2022 and 2025, helping more pilgrims travel easily and perform their religious duties in a comfortable and organized environment.
The Umrah and Ziyarah Forum aims to strengthen cooperation among organizations involved in pilgrimage services and to develop new strategies that will make religious travel smoother and safer. The forum also reflects Saudi Arabia's continued efforts to improve services and maintain its leading role in supporting pilgrims visiting the holy cities of Islam.
