The Grand Chief Imam of Ogbomosoland, Imam Yunus Olushina Teliat (Ayilara II), has appealed to both the Federal Government and the Oyo State Government to intensify efforts to rescue the schoolchildren and teachers recently abducted from Ahoro, Esin-Ele, and Yawota communities in Oyo State. He described the incident as painful and deeply troubling for the affected families and the entire community.

The respected Islamic leader said he has been praying continuously for the safe return of the victims. According to him, the abduction has remained a major focus of his Jumu'ah sermons, Eid messages, and personal supplications. He noted that the suffering experienced by the families of the kidnapped pupils and teachers is heartbreaking.

Imam Teliat expressed sympathy to the parents, relatives, and communities affected by the unfortunate incident. He prayed that Almighty Allah grants the victims protection and ensures their safe and unconditional release. He also urged government authorities to use every available resource to secure their freedom as quickly as possible.

The Chief Imam commended Nigerian security agencies for their ongoing efforts to tackle insecurity and rescue kidnapped victims across the country. He prayed for the safety, wisdom, and success of security personnel involved in the operation to recover the abducted schoolchildren and teachers.

Addressing allegations circulating on social media, Imam Teliat firmly denied any connection with terrorism, kidnapping, banditry, or any other criminal activity. He stated that throughout his religious and academic career, he has consistently preached against all forms of violence and criminality, describing them as serious crimes and violations of Islamic teachings.

The cleric further revealed that his legal team has begun legal action against individuals spreading what he described as false and defamatory claims about him. He warned that anyone who continues to publish such allegations may face legal consequences. He concluded by praying for lasting peace, security, and the safe return of all victims of terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping in Nigeria.
