The Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition has highlighted Saudi Arabia's efforts to counter extremist ideology at an international conference in Madinah, focusing on prevention, capacity-building and cooperation against terrorism.

The two-day International Conference on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Efforts to Counter Intellectual Deviations is being hosted by the Islamic University of Madinah from September 27 to 28. The event brings together scholars, researchers and specialists from Saudi Arabia and other countries.

During the conference, the coalition is showcasing its programs through an accompanying exhibition. Its activities are centered on four major areas: countering extremist ideology, strategic communications, disrupting terrorist financing and strengthening military cooperation.

An interactive display at the exhibition presents the coalition's strategic programs and initiatives across its member states. The presentation explains their objectives, implementation methods and efforts to strengthen institutional capacity, exchange expertise and improve cooperation against terrorism and extremism.

The coalition is also displaying publications, research papers and studies focusing on terrorism and extremist ideology. The materials highlight approaches aimed at preventing radicalization and supporting efforts to address the spread of extremist ideas.

Organizers said the conference provides an opportunity to connect research and knowledge with practical training programs. They also emphasized the importance of improving coordination between institutions working to prevent extremism and strengthen counterterrorism efforts.

The coalition said its participation reflects its commitment to academic discussions surrounding ideological extremism. It also aims to demonstrate initiatives designed to help member states prevent radicalization, combat terrorism and strengthen cooperation among governments, researchers, scholars and specialists.
