As the 2026 Umrah and Ziyarah Forum ended in Madinah, a Nigerian tour operator, Alhaji Bemekun Rasheed Adekunle, the Chief Executive Officer of Hamdalillahi Travels Limited, emphasized the need for stronger global cooperation in pilgrimage services. He explained that collaboration between countries and service providers is necessary to improve the overall experience of pilgrims.
Alhaji Adekunle said his company organizes Hajj and Umrah trips for Nigerian pilgrims, and his participation in the international forum was aimed at gaining more knowledge and building partnerships. According to him, attending global gatherings like this helps operators understand new developments in pilgrimage management and apply better strategies in their services.
The forum, themed "A History Told at Every Stop," was organized by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in partnership with the Pilgrim Experience Program. It brought together over 150 exhibitors, including government agencies, private companies, and nonprofit organizations from different countries to discuss ways to improve Umrah and Ziyarah services.
Speaking during the event, the Nigerian operator said the forum provided valuable insights into modern technology, service coordination, and pilgrim welfare. He noted that networking with international operators and service providers will help Nigerian companies deliver better accommodation, transportation, and guidance for pilgrims traveling to the holy land.
