According to reports, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) accused the United States of violating parts of the memorandum of understanding signed by U.S. President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on June 17, 2026.
The IRGC stated that the agreement required the withdrawal of American forces from the Persian Gulf region, the complete removal of restrictions on Iranian maritime activities, and Israel's withdrawal from southern Lebanon. Iran claimed these conditions have not been fully met.
Iranian officials warned that the Strait of Hormuz would remain closed until the stated conditions are satisfied. They also advised commercial and military vessels to stay away from the strategic waterway, warning that any ship ignoring the directive could face military action.
Meanwhile, the United States Central Command announced that it had already lifted its two-month blockade on Iranian ports. However, American officials said it was unclear why Iran considered the lifting of restrictions incomplete.
The latest development comes as conflicting reports emerge from the Middle East. While a U.S. official claimed that Israel and Hezbollah had reached a cease-fire agreement, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insisted that Israeli forces would continue security operations in southern Lebanon to protect northern Israeli communities.
