Trump Rejects Negotiations As Iran War Intensifies Across Middle East

US President Donald Trump has said the ongoing war with Iran may only end when the country's military forces and leadership are completely destroyed. Speaking to journalists aboard Air Force One, Trump stated that he is not interested in negotiating a peace agreement to end the conflict. The war has already caused instability across the Middle East, affecting oil markets, businesses, and international travel.

At the same time, Iran is reportedly preparing to choose a new supreme leader after the death of Ali Khamenei, who was killed earlier in the conflict. According to Iranian media reports, the country's Assembly of Experts may meet soon to select his successor. Some members of the council have suggested that an agreement on the next leader has almost been reached.

Meanwhile, Israel, a close ally of the United States, announced that it had launched new airstrikes inside Iran. Israeli military officials said the attacks targeted important fuel storage facilities and other strategic locations. The Israeli military also warned that it would continue to pursue any new Iranian leader who takes control after Khamenei.

In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said more Iranian officials could become targets in the war. He warned that Iran would face severe attacks and said the country had already suffered heavy damage. Trump also claimed that Iran had apologized to neighboring countries and promised not to launch attacks against them again.

Iran's president, Masoud Pezeshkian, earlier issued an apology for attacks carried out against nearby nations. He explained that the strikes were partly due to confusion among military ranks. According to him, Iran's temporary leadership council has agreed to stop attacking neighboring countries unless Iran itself is attacked first.

Trump also revealed that Kurdish fighters had offered to help in the war against Iran. However, he said he rejected the idea because involving the Kurds could make the conflict even more complicated. The US president defended the military campaign, describing it as the largest American operation in the Middle East since the 2003 invasion of Iraq, although he did not present evidence that Iran posed an immediate threat to the United States.
