Pope Urges Dialogue As US Iran Middle East War Escalates

The head of the Catholic Church, Pope Leo XIV, has called for peace and dialogue as tensions continue to rise in the Middle East. Speaking on Sunday, March 8, he asked for an end to the violence caused by the ongoing war between the United States and Iran.

The pope made his statement after the traditional Angelus prayer at the Vatican City. He said he is deeply worried about the situation in the Middle East and prayed that the sound of bombs and weapons would soon stop.

The conflict reportedly began after air strikes involving the United States and Israel targeted sites in Iran. As the war entered its ninth day, fears continue to grow that the fighting could spread across the region.

According to the pope, the continued violence and destruction are creating more hatred and fear among people. He warned that if the crisis continues, it could involve more countries and make the situation even more dangerous.

He also expressed concern about nearby countries that could be affected by the conflict. One of the countries he mentioned is Lebanon, which he described as a beloved nation that could once again fall into instability if the war spreads.

The pope urged all sides involved in the conflict to choose dialogue instead of violence. He prayed that the bombs would stop, weapons would become silent, and leaders would allow peaceful discussions so that the voices of ordinary people can finally be heard.
