A recent report has revealed that the Iranian drone attack on a United States military base in Kuwait was more serious than officials first reported. Early statements suggested that only a few soldiers were injured. However, new information from sources quoted by CBS News indicates that the damage and number of casualties were much higher than initially announced.

The attack happened on March 1 at a tactical operations center located in Shuaiba port, just outside Kuwait City. The strike occurred one day after a joint military operation by the United States and Israel against Iran began. During the drone strike, six American soldiers were killed, and several others were severely injured.

According to reports, the situation immediately after the attack was chaotic and disturbing. Witnesses described the scene as grim, with many injured soldiers needing urgent medical attention. In total, more than 30 American service members were hospitalized as a result of the strike.

Some of the injured soldiers were taken to major medical facilities for treatment. One soldier was transported to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Twelve others were taken to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington, D.C., which is known for treating seriously wounded US military personnel.

Another group of 25 injured soldiers was flown to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany for emergency care. Out of those admitted there, 20 had injuries classified as urgent. These injuries included traumatic brain injuries, memory loss, and serious concussions.

Earlier reports from the US Department of Defense had suggested that only five soldiers were seriously wounded and that others suffered minor injuries such as shrapnel wounds and concussions. However, the latest report suggests the impact of the attack was far more severe than what was first disclosed.
