Iran Ready For Pakistan Talks Seeks End To Illegal War

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Saturday that Iran has never refused to attend peace talks in Pakistan. In a social media post, he explained that Iran appreciates Pakistan's efforts to host negotiations and is willing to go to Islamabad. He added that Iran only wants clear and fair conditions that will lead to a complete and lasting end to what he described as an illegal war imposed on the country.

Araghchi also accused some United States media outlets of misrepresenting Iran's position. According to him, Iran's main concern is not the location of the talks but achieving a final agreement that will stop the conflict permanently. He stressed that Iran is open to diplomatic solutions if they bring real peace and security.

The government of Pakistan earlier announced that it plans to host talks between the United States and Iran soon. However, officials have not confirmed the exact date or whether both sides have agreed on the meeting schedule. This has created uncertainty about when the negotiations will actually take place.

Araghchi also raised serious concerns about continued attacks on the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant. He warned that radioactive fallout from repeated strikes on the facility could destroy life in nearby regional capitals, not only in Tehran. He described the situation as dangerous and urged the international community to pay attention.

The Iranian foreign minister criticized Western governments for staying silent about the repeated attacks on the nuclear facility. He said the lack of strong international reaction encourages further attacks and increases the risk of a nuclear disaster that could affect millions of people in the region.

Reports confirmed that the fourth attack on the Bushehr complex happened on Saturday, killing a security guard and damaging a support building. The International Atomic Energy Agency said there was no increase in radiation levels after the incident. The Bushehr facility, located about 750 kilometers south of Tehran, uses low-enriched uranium supplied by Russia and produces around 1,000 megawatts of electricity for Iran.
