Iran Condemns US Israel Strikes, Vows Strong Retaliation

Iran has accused the United States and Israel of carrying out military aggression against its territory, describing the strikes as a serious violation of its sovereignty. Officials in Tehran said the attacks breached Article 2(4) of the United Nations Charter, which prohibits the use of force against the territorial integrity of any state.

In a statement released by Iran's Foreign Ministry, authorities said the strikes targeted both defence infrastructure and civilian locations across several cities. The government argued that such actions endangered regional stability and escalated tensions at a sensitive time.

Tehran emphasized that the attacks occurred while diplomatic engagement between Iran and Washington was ongoing. According to officials, efforts had been focused on dialogue to avoid further confrontation, making the military action particularly damaging to trust and negotiations.

Iranian leaders stressed that they had prioritised diplomacy in order to prevent war. However, they declared that the situation had changed and that defending the nation had become a necessity in light of what they described as clear aggression.

Citing Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, Iran asserted its right to self-defence. Authorities stated that their armed forces would respond in what they described as a decisive and powerful manner.

Tehran also called on the United Nations Security Council and the broader international community to condemn the joint action. Iranian officials urged urgent steps to hold those responsible accountable and to prevent further escalation.

Meanwhile, Israel and the United States confirmed launching a coordinated operation early Saturday. They stated that the strikes were intended to eliminate what they described as threats posed by the Iranian government.
