US Revokes Green Cards Of Soleimani Relatives Over Iran Ties

The United States government has revoked the green cards of two relatives of Iranian military leader Qasem Soleimani over alleged links to the Iranian government. The decision was announced on April 4, 2026, as part of stricter immigration and national security measures by U.S. authorities.

According to the U.S. Department of State, Secretary of State Marco Rubio ordered the cancellation of the legal permanent resident status of Hamideh Soleimani Afshar, who is identified as the niece of Qasem Soleimani, along with her daughter. After the decision, federal agents arrested both individuals and placed them under the custody of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

U.S. officials claimed that Hamideh Soleimani Afshar openly supported the Iranian government while living in the United States. Authorities alleged that she frequently promoted Iranian government views and shared political messages that supported Iran's leadership and criticized the United States.

The statement further alleged that she praised attacks against American soldiers and military facilities in the Middle East and showed strong support for the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. Officials also accused her of spreading pro-Iran messages on social media while living a comfortable lifestyle in Los Angeles.

In addition to revoking her residency, U.S. authorities also banned her husband from entering the country. The U.S. government said the action was taken to prevent individuals who support foreign governments considered hostile to America from staying in the country.

The State Department also revealed that Fatemeh Ardeshir-Larijani, daughter of Iranian official Ali Larijani, and her husband Seyed Kalantar Motamedi were earlier barred from entering the United States. The Trump Administration stated that it will continue to take strong actions against foreign nationals who support anti-American regimes and threaten national security.
