Bandits Attack Kaduna Mosque, Kill Worshipper, Abduct Several Victims

Armed bandits attacked a mosque in Unguwan Namama village, located in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The tragic incident happened on Friday night, May 29, 2026, while residents were carrying out their evening prayers.

According to local sources, the attackers stormed the area at about 8:00 p.m. and surrounded the mosque. Worshippers were reportedly inside the mosque when the bandits arrived and created fear among the community.

As prayers ended and people began leaving the mosque, the gunmen opened fire on the worshippers. The sudden attack caused panic and confusion as people ran for safety.

During the attack, one worshipper identified as Adamu Ibraheem was killed. Several other people sustained gunshot injuries and were taken to hospital for medical treatment.

The attackers also abducted a number of residents during the operation. However, the exact number of those kidnapped has not yet been confirmed by authorities.

A relative of the deceased, Abubakar Abdullahi, confirmed the incident in a message sent to the media on June 1. As investigations continue, residents are calling for improved security to protect lives and property in the area.
