A major diplomatic breakthrough has been announced as the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran prepare to sign a formal peace agreement on Friday, June 19 in Switzerland, following months of negotiations aimed at ending military tensions between both nations and their allies.

The announcement was made by the Prime Minister of Pakistan, , who revealed in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that both sides had reached a full agreement to permanently stop military operations.

According to Sharif, the agreement includes an immediate and permanent ceasefire across all fronts, marking a significant step toward reducing long-standing hostility between the  and the .

He further confirmed that the official signing ceremony will take place in , bringing together representatives from both countries along with international mediators who helped facilitate the peace talks.

Reports also indicate that regional countries including , , and  played important roles in supporting and mediating the negotiation process, although full details of the agreement are yet to be officially released.

Former U.S. President  also commented on the development, stating that a framework deal had been reached and noting that the Strait of Hormuz would be reopened, signaling a potential easing of global energy tensions.
