Saudi Arabia Condemns US Envoy Remarks Strongly

Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned remarks made by the United States ambassador to Israel suggesting that Israeli control over the entire Middle East would be acceptable. The Kingdom described the comments as reckless and a clear violation of international law.

The statements were reportedly made by Mike Huckabee, who currently serves as the US envoy to Israel. He suggested that it would be acceptable if Israel took control of the entire Middle East, including the West Bank, sparking widespread criticism.

In an official response, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia said it "categorically denounced" the remarks. The ministry rejected what it called irresponsible statements that contradict international law, the United Nations Charter, and established diplomatic norms.

According to the statement, the comments set a dangerous precedent, particularly because they were made by a senior US official. The ministry stressed that such rhetoric reflects disregard for the longstanding relationships between the United States and countries across the Middle East region.

Saudi Arabia further warned that such positions could carry grave consequences. It emphasized that the remarks threaten global peace and security by fueling hostility toward the peoples and states of the region, while weakening the foundations of the international order based on sovereignty and internationally recognized borders.

The Kingdom called on the United States Department of State to clarify its stance on the envoy's statements. It noted that the proposal has been rejected by peaceful nations around the world and does not reflect internationally accepted principles.

Reaffirming its longstanding position, Saudi Arabia stated that a just and comprehensive peace can only be achieved by ending the occupation and implementing a two-state solution. The Kingdom reiterated its support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state along the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
