On Sunday night, suspected bandits abducted three people along the Oke-Ode–Babanla Road in Ifelodun Local Government Area, Kwara State. The victims include the Imam of Babanla, a local security guard, and the guard's son.

Local sources said the victims were travelling from Oke-Ode to Babanla when armed men intercepted them and took them to an unknown location. Community members are deeply concerned over the rising insecurity in the area.

"They were on their way home when the kidnappers attacked," a source said. "The Imam, the security guard, and his son, Fawas, were all taken away."

The abduction of the cleric, who serves as a spiritual leader in Babanla town, has caused fear among residents. The security guard is also a known community operative, though more details about him have not been released.

This incident follows another recent abduction in Kwara State. Suspected bandits reportedly invaded Ndeji village in Edu Local Government Area on Saturday night, taking a housewife and her child from their home before fleeing into the bush.

Authorities have not yet provided information on rescue efforts, and residents continue to express anxiety over the growing threat of kidnappings in the region. Community members are urging state security agencies to act quickly to prevent further attacks.
