General Discussion / Pezeshkian Rejects US Pressure...
Last post by Abdulwahid - Sep 24, 2026, 09:44 PM
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has criticized the United States over its approach to Iran, accusing Washington of seeking to advance its interests through the region's waterways while simultaneously using them to exert pressure on Tehran.

Pezeshkian made the remarks during his address at the United Nations General Assembly, as tensions between Iran and the United States continue to draw international attention.

His comments came a day after US President Donald Trump told the United Nations that he was considering whether to "annihilate" Iran. Trump also indicated that renewed discussions between US and Iranian negotiators had taken place.

Pezeshkian did not directly address the reported negotiations during his UN speech. Instead, he emphasized Iran's resistance to American pressure and outlined Tehran's position on the ongoing confrontation.

The continuing confrontation between Washington and Tehran is also raising concerns about regional security and the global economy. Particular attention remains focused on the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial waterway for international oil and fuel shipments.

As tensions persist, developments involving Iran, the United States and the Strait of Hormuz are being closely watched by governments and energy markets worldwide. Any major disruption around the strategic waterway could have wider consequences for regional stability and global energy supplies.

News / Algeria’s Christian Groups Fac...
Last post by Mudhab - Sep 24, 2026, 09:18 PM
Christian sources say Algerian authorities have recently approached religious leaders outside the existing Protestant organisation as part of an effort to establish a new Christian association. According to those sources, the proposed organisation could potentially replace the country's existing Protestant body.

The sources allege that representatives have contacted several Christian congregations about joining the proposed association. Churches in areas including Béjaïa, Tizi Ouzou and Bouira were reportedly among those approached as discussions about the new organisation continued.

According to the same sources, some Christian communities believe the initiative could create an opportunity for churches that have previously been closed to reopen. However, any reopening would reportedly take place under conditions established by the Algerian government.

The available source material does not include a response from Algerian authorities regarding the allegations. As a result, the claims concerning the government's intentions and the proposed association could not be independently established from the information provided.

Open Doors estimates that Algeria has approximately 150,000 Christians, representing around 0.3 percent of the country's population. The organisation estimates that about 8,000 of them are Catholics, while other Christian communities include Methodists, Anglicans and Mennonites.

Some members of these Christian denominations are foreign residents living in Algeria. The country's Christian population therefore includes both Algerian citizens and members of international communities residing in the North African nation.

Open Doors ranked Algeria 20th in its 2026 World Watch List, which identifies 50 countries where the organisation says Christians experience the most severe persecution. The ranking reflects Open Doors' assessment and should be understood in that context.

General Discussion / Saudi Arabia Could Lead Global...
Last post by Mudhab - Sep 24, 2026, 09:09 PM
Saudi Arabia has a significant opportunity to become a major force in the global media industry, according to Larry Namer, co-founder of E! Entertainment. The veteran entertainment executive said the Kingdom has the potential to expand its influence across content creation and emerging areas of the media sector.

Namer, who has spent about five decades working in entertainment, discussed the changing global media landscape and the growing role of artificial intelligence. He also identified vertical drama, a rapidly developing short-form entertainment format, as an area where Saudi Arabia could become a major player.

As co-founder of E! Entertainment, Namer helped develop a television concept focused on Hollywood celebrities and popular culture into an international entertainment brand. E! eventually expanded its reach to more than 140 countries, demonstrating the potential for entertainment content to connect audiences across different cultures.

Namer said successful media companies must understand the audiences they serve and respect their cultural differences. Drawing from his experiences working in several international markets, including China and Russia, he explained that content created for a particular country should reflect the language, culture and interests of its people rather than simply copying foreign programming.

The entertainment executive recalled creating Hello Hollywood, a program designed specifically for Chinese audiences and inspired by the approach of E! News. He said his international experience taught him that media creators entering another country should approach the market with respect and focus on providing entertainment that connects with local audiences.

Looking toward the future, Namer said artificial intelligence could become an important tool for creative professionals if it is properly managed and regulated. He explained that AI can significantly reduce the time needed for research and development, noting that tasks that previously required days of research can now be completed much faster with modern technology.

However, Namer stressed that he does not depend on AI to write his work. Instead, he uses the technology primarily for research before personally reviewing the information, assessing its reliability and developing his own ideas. He believes human judgment and creativity will remain important as Saudi Arabia and other countries explore new opportunities in the rapidly changing global media industry.

News / Iran Sets Four-Day Deadline In...
Last post by Mudhab - Sep 24, 2026, 08:58 PM
Iran has reportedly given the United States four to five days to meet its conditions before negotiations can resume and the Strait of Hormuz can be reopened.

Rezaei linked the aviation dispute to wider negotiations between Tehran and Washington over the ongoing war and the strategic Strait of Hormuz, one of the world's most important shipping routes.

According to Rezaei, Iran has made its position clear and expects the United States to respond within the specified timeframe. He said negotiations would remain suspended until Tehran's conditions are accepted.

"Until Iran's conditions are accepted, there will be no negotiations and the Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened," Rezaei said, according to the reported statement.

Iran has previously indicated that it could reopen the Strait of Hormuz within seven days if Washington reduces military pressure and lifts its blockade on Iranian ports.

The latest warning comes as Iranian and American officials maintain diplomatic contacts in New York during the United Nations General Assembly. The discussions are taking place amid continuing disagreements over the war, sanctions and the strategic waterway.

The Strait of Hormuz remains central to the dispute because of its importance to international shipping and energy supplies. With negotiations still unresolved, Iran's deadline has added further attention to the diplomatic efforts between Tehran and Washington.

General Discussion / Why Michael Hart Ranked Prophe...
Last post by Fatai Muiz - Sep 18, 2026, 07:58 PM
Michael Hart's book The 100: A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons in History is a well-known attempt to rank historical figures according to their influence on human civilization. Hart placed Prophet Muhammad ﷺ at number one, explaining that his choice was based on the Prophet's extraordinary and lasting influence across religious, social, political and cultural spheres.

One of the major reasons for the ranking is the Prophet's profound religious influence. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ conveyed the message of Islam, a monotheistic faith centred on the worship of one God, Allah. The Qur'an revealed to him remains the central scripture of Islam, while his teachings and example continue to guide Muslims across the world.

Hart also highlighted the Prophet's role as a social and political leader. Muhammad ﷺ united communities and tribes in Arabia and established a functioning society in Madinah. His leadership combined religious guidance with governance, community building, justice and consultation, creating a model that influenced the development of Islamic civilization.

His influence also extended to law, ethics and culture. The Qur'an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ became foundational sources for Islamic teachings and jurisprudence. His teachings addressed matters including charity, family life, education, justice, social responsibility and the treatment of others, shaping the values and institutions of Muslim societies for centuries.

Another important factor was the global and enduring nature of his influence. Within decades of his death, Islam had spread far beyond the Arabian Peninsula into parts of Africa, Asia and Europe. Today, Muslims from different ethnicities, languages and cultures continue to follow the Prophet's teachings more than 1,400 years after his lifetime.

Hart considered the combination of spiritual and practical leadership particularly significant. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ served as a religious teacher, community leader, statesman, lawgiver and military leader. This combination enabled him to bring about profound changes in the society in which he lived, with effects that continued long after his death.

Michael Hart's decision to place Prophet Muhammad ﷺ at the top of his historical ranking therefore reflected his assessment of the Prophet's broad and lasting impact on religion, society, politics, law and culture. For Muslims, however, his status goes beyond historical influence: he is the final Messenger of Allah and an example to be followed. May the peace and blessings of Allah be upon Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, his family, his companions and all those who follow his guidance until the Last Day. Ameen.

News / Sheikh Nura Khalid’s Son Retur...
Last post by Fatai Muiz - Sep 18, 2026, 07:51 PM
The son of prominent Nigerian Islamic cleric Sheikh Nura Khalid has announced his return to Islam, weeks after publicly declaring that he had embraced Christianity. His latest announcement has generated widespread reactions online, following the attention his earlier declaration received from Christian evangelists and social media users.

In a statement circulating on social media, the young man expressed regret over his decision to leave Islam and apologized to his father, Sheikh Nura Khalid, and the Muslim Ummah. He did not provide further details about what influenced his decision to return to Islam.

Weeks earlier, his announcement that he had converted to Christianity went viral, with some anti-Islam social media accounts presenting it as evidence of a growing rejection of Islam. Some Christian preachers and evangelists also invited him to churches and religious programmes, while photographs of him with Christian leaders were widely shared online.

At the time, Sheikh Nura Khalid publicly said that his son had been dealing with serious mental-health challenges since birth and appealed to the public to be cautious and sensitive when discussing his situation. Despite the warning, his earlier conversion continued to receive significant attention on social media.

Following his return to Islam, several Muslim commentators questioned whether the churches and Christian personalities who publicly celebrated his earlier conversion would give similar attention to his decision to return. Others argued that matters of personal faith should not be turned into social media propaganda, particularly given the concerns raised by his family.

Sheikh Nura Khalid, a former Chief Imam of Apo Legislative Quarters Mosque in Abuja, is known for his outspoken sermons on governance, social issues and religious tolerance. Supporters of the cleric said Islam does not depend on the actions of any single individual, noting that people continue to embrace the religion around the world based on personal conviction.

Mental-health professionals have urged the public to exercise caution and respect the privacy and dignity of individuals dealing with mental-health challenges. As of the time of filing this report, the family has not announced any further public events concerning the matter, while no public response has been issued by the Christian leaders or churches reportedly associated with his earlier conversion.
